Why Work With Me

Knowledge

With over 25 years of experience, and as a Certified Professional Photographer, I have the knowledge and experience to create a portrait that reflects who you are and that makes you look and feel great.

Creativity

I come from a long line of artists. My great granduncle was an Impressionist painter and my grandfather a famous maritime painter; my parents passed their creative genes on to me.

I love creating images within the camera's frame, making sure the light, posing, and expressions are captivating and pleasing.

Combining the technical aspects while helping clients feel comfortable so they look amazing is a fine art that I enjoy.

Experience

My years of wedding work taught me to think on my feet and be ready to capture the peak moments... the moments where time stands still and a single image can convey the meaning of the whole scene or capture someone's personality.

I have photographed countless people in innumerable situations.

When you want the best, experience matters.

Testimonials

  • "We have used Bonnie Baker Photography several times over the years for portraits of our daughter from age four to her most recent HS senior photos. I'm always impressed with how she brings out the best in our daughter, getting her to laugh or give a genuine smile. The finished product is always high quality. I highly recommend her!" - Brenda M.

  • "Bonnie's photos are amazing. I never knew my kid could look so good, but also so authentic. My child wanted the dog in their senior photos and Bonnie actually got both the dog and the kid to look good...I don't know how she does it. Her photos of athletic events are great too even though catching those moments is a whole other skill. " - Sarah G.

  • "Bonnie’s technical skill is one thing and is spot on, but the way she makes people feel is what is so important. It makes the experience and photographs so special." - image blurred for religious reasons

Steps to Crafting the Best Portrait Session Ever:

  • 1. Session Planning

As we prepare for your session, we will talk through your outfits and the location, and plan out any logistical details. After that, relax and get excited for your custom portrait session.

  • 2. Portrait Session

During your session, the focus will be on you and your family. Bring a snack for the kids and water for everyone. I will help each person feel relaxed and will encourage a comfortable and fun vibe. If you're having fun and feeling good, you'll look great.

  • 3. Image Presentation

Within a week of your portrait session, we'll schedule a time to sit down and look at your images together. Once you select your favorites, we'll figure out where they'll go (such as on the wall, in an album, or be gifted to loved ones), and I'll get to work on preparing them for you.

  • 4. Enjoy the Memories

Image Delivery Day is like your favorite gift-giving holiday, only better! Your wall portraits will be ready to hang, and your albums ready to be shared with friends and family. Your memories will be preserved forever.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • It’s important to wear clothes that fit well and look good on you. Choose colors that go well with your skin tone, or clothes that have garnered compliments such as: “You look great today!” or, “That shirt looks terrific on you!”

It’s best to wear long sleeves so the viewer’s attention goes to your face and not your arms. Also, try to wear solids that are not too bright or distracting (because you want the attention going towards your face and not your clothes).

If you’re going to get a haircut, do so at least 4-5 days beforehand, so it has a chance to grow in. Alternatively, if you’re getting your hair styled by a stylist, do so before your session so it looks great when you arrive.

  • Headshots and senior portraits start at $300 and include a digital image that will be sent to the yearbook or that can be used for LinkedIn, other social media sites, or your webpage. There are many options for your session regarding location, outfit changes, etc. Please Contact me for more information.

  • Yes! Your image is how people first connect with you online. It's important to keep that image fresh and current; clients, colleagues, friends, and family want to see what you look like now and not how you looked in the outdated portrait from several years ago.

Experts advise that you get a new portrait taken every two years. Contact me today to schedule an appointment!

  • A business headshot is cropped to head and shoulders or upper torso. In general, the subject is looking at the camera. Usually business headshots are taken against a backdrop in the studio or in a makeshift studio on location. When I photograph business headshots, I try to capture a range of expressions from smiling to serious, and I like to get different angles and poses so you have lots to choose from.

A corporate portrait is often taken in the workplace as an environmental portrait or, occasionally and depending upon the client's occupation, in an outdoor setting. When taken in the office, we include some aspects of the setting in the background to add depth and to give a glimpse into your world. Corporate portraits are sometimes half-body or full-body images of the client seated or standing, rather than just head and shoulders.

  • I'll photograph wherever it makes sense to get the best images of you. If you're a business person and would like a corporate portrait, we might photograph in your office, an outdoor location, or in my studio or portrait garden. High school seniors often choose to be photographed at a beautiful outdoor location in Concord, Acton, Lincoln, Sudbury, or other nearby town. We will also travel to Cape Cod, or New Hampshire, or beyond to photograph you near your vacation home or doing an activity you love. Families are often photographed in my portrait garden, in nearby conservation land or at their home or vacation home.
