Other Interests

I’ve loved photography since my parents gave me my first Kodak flip camera in grade school. With that little camera, I explored my world, took tons of photos of all sorts of things, learned to be selective with my subject material (since I had to pay for the film and develop it on my own)… and enjoyed finding unique perspectives to view everyday objects.

My cameras became more substantial as I grew older, and my love of imagery never faltered. At Stanford, I learned how to use a 4x5 view camera from a man who had studied under Ansel Adams. In the more advanced view camera classes, he worked with me to find the light and refine my subject matter as I chose personal projects on finding Humor in Photography and pushing the limits of Animal Portraiture (from bulls to large horses, roosters, and other birds, I photographed them all with a 4x5 view camera).

Now, I like to have fun and capture images with whatever camera is in my hands. Here are some of my favorite images taken just for the fun of it.
